Science can beboth boon and a bane, depending upon what we make of it Science is a boon for it gives us power to know, explore, discover, invent, make, innovate and conquer. Science is the outcome of our ability to reason and question, and our urge to explore. It has fürthered the frontiers of our knowledge and made our life more comfortable, more prosperous and easier It has helped us understand the natural phenomena, natural bodies, natural forces and our world and the universe Thanks to science, we are healthier, eat better, live better and live longer Science has successfully helped us conquer or fight disease. It has given us machines that work as our slaves and lessen the burden of our work. Science has revolutionised the way we travel from one place to another and from our planet to other planets. That is not all Science has completely altered the way we do our business, stay connected and communicate. Science has brought about a revol ution in farming and food production and as a result we have plenty of food for all. All these things make science a real boon. But there are plenty of reasons why some people view science as a bane. The biggest reason why Science is a bane is that it has made war more lethal and destructive than ever before The machines and other means of war that Science has given us are capable of destroving the world many times over. Two world wars of the twentieth century are a testimony to this fact. Itis true science has revolutionised.our everyday life, but it has made us slaves of our machines We cannot think of living a day without them. We don't command them, they command us! Think of a day without electricity or mobiles, or televisions, refrigerators, ACs and cars Lifeisimpossible without them!
